********************************************* First of all, Beaver Creek Sportsman Club is located 1/4 mile north of Rt.14, on Washingtonville Road, in Washingtonville, Ohio. We have approximately 120 acres of land with habitat fields, a nice stocked lake, lots of woods with deer, rabbit, turkey, squirrel and, yes, some coyotes. We have some pretty nice horseshoe pits and a very active horseshoe league. If you like hanging out with the guys, swaping lies, grilling wild game, listening to country music and throwing down an ''ocassional'' cold beverage, you'll love our Wednesday and Friday horseshoe gang. They start pitching as soon as weather allows and don't quit till the snow flys! Then they have their yearly Steak Fry and call it a year. Wednesday nights are reserved for the indoor pistol shoots. This is a non-competative, lead only (no jacketed ammo) pistol shoot ideal for honing your skills, improving accuracy, or checking loads for you guys into re-loading. It's perfect for the beginner looking for tips and advice about shooting, reloading or just learning about the sport. On any given Wednesday night there will be nearly a hundred years of experience on the line eagar to share their passion and knowledge of sport shooting. Cost is a very reasonable at $5.00 and paper targets are provided. This is a ''fall/winter'' event as most of the shooters prefer to move to the outdoor range as soon as the weather permits. ********************************************* So, how do I get work hours?
********************************************* Like any organization, we must generate money to continue to operate. We do many things and they all require workers. We have our Lenten Fish Fry's (from Ash Wednesday till Easter), we try to do two (2) Gun Shows each year, we have a Monday Night Turkey Shoots from October thru March, and there is a monthly 3-D Bow Shoot (Feb.-Sept.). Our biggest fund raiser is our 10 Gun Raffle and Party held every fall. In addition we have two (2) smaller $500.00 raffles (Spring & Winter) each year. Points are earned selling tickets to any of our yearly raffles in addition to working any raffle event and you even get 1/2 point for each monthly membership meeting you attend. Membership meetings are not mandatory, but they're recommended. There are so many opportunities to get points, a caveman could do it. If you're good at selling raffle tickets, it's easy to get your points just selling tickets to our ten (10) gun raffle, our $500.00 Spring raffle or $500.00 Winter raffle. Each of our members are asked to buy or sell (8) eight ten (10) gun raffle and two (2) books each of the $500.00 Spring raffle or $500.00 Winter raffle. If you just did that, you'd have twelve points. In certain situations, you'll even receive ''double'' points. Nearly every task done or work preformed for the good of the club, will earn points. So you see, points are easy to get. ********************************************* So, how do I join?
